Oh what a day!

What can we say about your service throughout the planning of the wedding to the actual wedding day… AMAZING! You asked us what we wanted people to say about our wedding when it was done… “BEST WEDDING EVER!” and you accomplished that. You met and emailed us on many different occasions throughout our planning year, offering suggestions and ideas for our wedding. I felt comfortable asking you about different vendors for the day, knowing you were treating our wedding like it was your own.

When the wedding day arrived and there was a sudden change of location for our ceremony, you were there to greet the wedding party and let us know everything was under control. You had taken care of all the details, and most importantly ensured us that it would be an even better location, which it was.

The reception, you made it (well with some help from our wild friends)! We had so many comments throughout the night saying how wonderful you are and that this has been the best wedding they had ever been to. Not only was the music awesome for absolutely everyone there, but the games that you got everyone into made for such a great start to the evening. By far the “Survivor” game was the most entertaining to watch everyone get into (I can’t wait to play it at a wedding I go to). You kept the energy going all night long. We are so grateful for all your help and your amazing talent.

The only complaint I have about you Jeff is unfortunately you are a Toronto Maple Leaf fan, but Lee on the other hand loves you for that!

Thank you so much for what everyone is telling us was the BEST WEDDING EVER… and really it was!

Jeff was great to work with before the wedding, he was there to help and provide us with any help we needed, he made sure that our JP had a good sound system for the ceremony as well as the musician who was playing during the ceremony!

Jeff absolutely made our wedding the most amazing party ever! The dance floor was crowded with people the entire night…and the party could have continued long after the venue closed us down. Jeff did an amazing job of getting people involved after dinner, in the newlywed game, and the survivor game was so funny! The wedding was a blast and everyone, had an amazing time when the music started. Jeff did a great job of playing all sorts of music all throughout the night and everyone made the comment that he was the best DJ they had ever experienced at events.

Jeff was able to help us make our wedding into the event that we were attempting to achieve without any problems!

From a bridesmaid…

Hi Jeff,

So first of all, let me just say you are by far the best dj I have ever had the pleasure to be entertained by!

I was a bridesmaid for Kate and Alex’s wedding a couple weeks ago at Summerhill Winery July 30th. You were absolutely unreal and sooo much fun! I remember there was one time you accused me of not getting low enough; however, in my defense, I was clearly in no shape to be getting any lower at that point in time haha.

Anyways, I don’t know if I’m really even allowed to do this, but I figured I’d try anyways. My cousin just recently got engaged to be married in May in Red Deer, Alberta. Now I know you don’t do weddings outside of B.C., but I thought I’d try my luck and see with you being in the dj world and all, if you might have any idea/recommendations for somebody even remotely close to your dj’ing caliber from around the central Alberta area.

Anyways, just thought I’d ask and if nothing else, I got the chance to say thanks for making it such a fun night. Although what the heck is with 12:30 stop time!! Boourns!Also, you were the dj for my good friend Nicole Sailes back at the beginning of July and she said you were also the best dj she ever had!

Jason and I just got back froma long honeymoon, part of our time at my families cabin on the sunshine coast and a week in Maui!!! Soooo nice!

I just wanted to say THANK YOU for everything!!!! We have been talking non stop about the wedding, just reliving all the moments, which you helped to create!! You did SO MUCH wih the limited info we provided for you!!!

Jason appreciates all the help and support you provided for him prior to the ceremony, you can’t imagine how much it meant to him!!! seriously!

DJ Haymaker was an outstanding DJ/MC and addition to our wedding. He went above and beyond standard DJ services from the first time we met with him to after the wedding was over. Jeff made us feel comfortable and at ease with his ability to understand exactly what we wanted for our special day and help guide us in the planning process. He also had some great wedding ideas to share with us that we were able to incorporate into reception.

We hired him to play the music at our ceremony, which was flawless and smooth – it was so nice not to have to worry about that aspect of our wedding – we just showed up and he was there, set up and ready to go. As Jeff was also our MC he ran our reception and kept us in the loop as the night went on, making sure we had enough time to eat and mingle with the guests. As the bride and groom we truly didn’t have to worry about anything except enjoying ourselves.

The games, especially “survivor,” that Jeff played were a huge hit with the guests – I have never seen a wedding where so many of the guests were involved, rather than sitting in their chairs waiting for the dancing to begin. As soon as the dancing started people were on the dance floor, wearing hats, laughing and having a blast.

Jeff listened to requests from the guests and was really able to read the crowd to draw energy out of them and to determine what kind of atmosphere to provide at our wedding. One of the first comments we heard from a friend on our wedding day was not “congratulations” but “your DJ is halarious”! Since coming back from our honeymoon and seeing our friends and family we have received comments like “Your DJ was amazing” “I had the most fun I’ve ever had at a wedding” “Your wedding was one of the best weddings we’ve ever been to – the DJ was so much fun!”

We couldn’t agree with our friends and family more – our wedding would not have been as well organized, fun or entertaining without DJ Haymaker.

So here goes with our recollections of your contribution to making our day so amazing:

Jeff was the DJ at my daughter’s wedding in Kelowna in June 2008. It was a magnificent event in every way with so many incredible memories. But the one common thread in every ones memory is still being heard two years later: “That DJ was incredible”; “He made the day”; ” That was the most fun wedding we have ever attended”.

And so, the following year, when my partner of 14 years and I decided to plan our own wedding celebration, there was no disputing the sentiment: “We must see if we can get Jeff Hay to be our DJ”. We knew he was booked well in advance so we contacted him in January of 2010 and fortunately he was free for our chosen date, July 21, 2010. We were so relieved, because we knew from our previous experience in 2008, that once we had Jeff Hay on board, everything else would fall into place.

Anyone planning a wedding knows that the costs can get out of hand very quickly, and many couples are looking for ways to save money. But through our two recent wedding experiences, our advise would be, you can cut corners here and there, but don’t cut out the DJ. Especially if you can get Jeff
Hay.

Jeff helps you through the planning stage, encourages you to personalize your day and has great suggestions to help you along the way. On your special day, he shows up well in advance and is incredibly organized and professional with his set up of equipment and attention to detail. From the moment your wedding begins, he takes charge to ensure that your ceremony and reception flows exactly as you had imagined. Whatever songs you request, he provides. He will read your crowd and he will ensure that everyone
becomes a participant.

You will know that he has listened to what is important to you, because he will remember even the smallest details. He will even remember the names of people in your crowd and he will ensure that everyone feels included. He has a knack for incorporating funny stories with impeccable timing and he will make sure everyone has a good time. You will feel like he is part of your family.

Thank you Jeff for making our wedding day so memorable. We hope you will be around in 20 years when our grand daughter gets married!

PS.. Jeff, As you probably recall, we had a friend who videographed our service and parts of the reception. And as you know, the day goes by so fast, so being able to sit and watch the video has been amazing. To relive our experience through photos is one thing but being able to hear the birds chirping, the water lapping on the shore and the sound of people’s laughter during the reception is amazing. It was like being there all over again. We are so glad you incorporated the games again. Everyone had such a good time!

It’s a few months after our wedding, and the one re-occuring theme that keeps coming up from our guests and family members is how fabulous our DJ/MC was. He was what made our wedding.

It may seem like a strange idea to have your DJ be your MC especially when traditionally the MC is someone who knows both of you as a couple… It is the best decision you could make. Jeff is a professional who takes the time to get to know you as a couple and your family and friends so when that day arrives, there are no slow transitions, inappropriate jokes, and awkward silences. He had our guests laughing so hard they were crying before dinner even started.

He is charming, well-versed, tactful, and the best I have ever worked with. Our guests were all from Vancouver and were asking if they could fly him in for their next big wedding. They couldn’t believe how much his cost was since they were willing to pay over $10,000 for him.

Jeff interacted with all our guests, and learned a lot of our 200 guests names within only a few hours of time. He was witty with the games he played, he had my oldest guests staying until 1:30am not wanting to go home. He was the best decision we made for our wedding… we were laughing days later remembering our guests fun-filled experiences, and the best day of our lives.

Ever single guest has said to us that this was the best wedding they had ever been to, and now, no one wants to get married because they don’t want to follow it up with a flop…. that is unless they get Jeff!

Thanks for everything Jeff, you were amazing! I hope to have you at every other wedding I go to afterwards, otherwise I’m leaving right after the cake is cut!

We wanted to send along this testimonial for you… Thinking back to our big day I get all giddy and warm and can’t help but smile and laugh, it was more amazing than I could have ever imagined it! THANK YOU for being a part of it, you played such an important role and it really allowed us, the wedding party relax and soak it all in, you took the stress off my shoulders so I could spend the night dancing with my loved ones!!! the verdict’s in and it’s unanimous, our family and friends keep telling us, it was the best wedding they’ve ever been too! I just can’t get over how blessed we are to have had a perfect day, I’ll away remember it, every sweet detail and feeling all the love in the room, a union of cultures, a true celebration.

Now, this bride loves to dance and have a good time but a wedding is so much more than that a song list and host bar, in our case, it was a destination wedding and a formal outdoor ceremony of two beautiful cultures uniting and in order to have a sincere celebration, there must be an organized platform in place so that the day’s events run smoothly, and we wanted to treat our honoured guests to the time of their lives so we were willing to “put our money into all the right wedding expenses”, this meant investing in the services that will make the most positive contribution to the whole experience.

I had researched the recommendations list and I knew visiting Jeff’s site that we had to have him at our wedding and I am serious when I say that I made the necessary arrangements to change my wedding date to a day this MC extraordinaire was available to entertain us. Our investment in his services was one of the best decisions we made, not only for our day in which he provided the utmost peace of mind so that I could actually relax and soak up the overwhelming joy of each and every sweet moment, it was his effort to get to know us personally and the guidance he provided along the way that helped us to make informed decisions and set the stage for the main event that reflected us as a couple.

We just returned from our honeymoon and wanted to provide you with some feedback on our big night!

Our first impression of working together with you, came on our first call. You were full of positive energy and seemed just as excited as us. We were thoroughly impressed with your initial packages and were pleased that you made it more personal by trying to get to know us. I think all bases were covered and it was a bit reassuring to us. When we met for the first time, we loved that you took the time to hear our thoughts, provide your feedback and reassure us that you are happy to help us along the way. Your follow was always fabulous as I know we weren’t the best as being on top of getting back to you.

Our wedding day was amazing. Every detail was covered. We loved how we didn’t have to think about a thing on our day. You were on top of everything, keeping the flow of the evening going with maintaining the interest and excitement of everyone. We loved the tickle trunk of costumes. We had some great laughs at the different characters. All of our guests had a great time and there was a lot of positive feedback about you.

Everyone loved you and thought you made the night a great party!

Jeff absolutely made our wedding reception a dream! Because we were combining Western and east Indian cultures we were worried that our guest would stay separated and not talk to eachother. Jeff took care of that concern within the first few minutes and had everyone in the room in stitches just by introducing that head table. It only got better from there with different games and comments and by dinner time everyone in the room felt like they knew one another. We received complements all night on our amazing wedding reception, with special mention of our great dj! My uncle said he was going to throw a party just to have Jeff come! My husband and I have personally never had so much fun.

Jeff takes so much care in the details of the wedding and really does take the time to get to know the couple. Jeff and his wife even came to our traditional Sikh ceremony during the day! I have no doubt our families will be talking about this wedding for years to come. Thank you Jeff for making both of our families have a blast!! We couldn’t have asked for anything more!

Here are a few thoughts from our wedding…

The wedding was fantastic except for one thing: not enough time to dance to your awesome music!!! We are quite the party bunch and despite all the fun we had, it went WAY too fast!!!! …mind you if it was any longer I would’ve passed out from being dehydrated or drunk!…or both!

Before the night was even getting started, some of our guests were saying how awesome our DJ was! By the time the party was over, several people thought you were a family friend of ours because you were so involved with the crowd. Everyone loved the games and your original ideas!

My brother even posted on facebook your company sign and a comment “I bet that 99% of the crowd would say this is the best DJ they have ever seen.” It was an incredibly fun night and you organized things well!!

I hope you are happy to know I have already referred you to my friend who got engaged last week. She was at our wedding and will also be getting married in Kelowna. Her name is Janet Henry…so hopefully you’ll be hearing from her soon!
