DJ Haymaker was an absolute GEM and truly one of the highlights of the final night of our summer convention!

Planning this event came with its own unique logistical challenges. We were unfamiliar with the area and, from across the country, needed to conduct scouting trips to secure the right venues, accommodations and entertainment for our group. During every site visit and every meeting with a hospitality professional, I asked the same question: “Who would you recommend for entertainment?” One name came up again and again — DJ Haymaker.

I was quickly told that booking Jeff would be nearly impossible within our nine-month booking window, particularly for a summer weekend. As luck would have it, our closing night fell on a Monday — and Jeff happened to be available. Even more incredibly, it was his mother’s birthday. Jeff went above and beyond, moving his own family celebration to the following day so that he could be there for our event. That level of commitment and willingness to make it work meant so much to us and set the tone for what turned out to be an exceptional evening.

From the very beginning, Jeff was exceptionally prepared and incredibly intentional about understanding our event. He took the time to research our company and learn about key participants so that his talking points and interactions felt relevant, personal and authentic. That level of preparation made a huge difference and demonstrated just how much he cared about delivering the right experience for our group.

His ice-breaking games were fantastic and did exactly what we hoped they would — get people laughing, interacting and out of their comfort zones. Jeff has a natural ability to read a room, and he effortlessly played to the crowd, adapting the music and energy throughout the evening to keep the dance floor alive.

He brought an amazing, fun vibe to the event, dressed the part, encouraged participation and actively engaged with our guests rather than simply standing behind the booth. His energy was contagious, and he made people feel included and part of the experience.

What impressed us just as much was his professionalism behind the scenes. Jeff made a point of regularly checking in with me throughout the evening to ensure everything was on track and that the entertainment was aligning with the flow of the event. That kind of communication and awareness is invaluable when you’re managing a large convention and juggling countless moving parts.

Looking back, I completely understand why DJ Haymaker was the name I heard over and over again during our scouting process. Jeff didn’t simply provide music — he took the time to understand our group, invested in the success of our event and helped create an experience that our attendees will remember.

Jeff was the perfect combination of professional, prepared, personable and FUN. We are incredibly grateful that the stars aligned and that he was willing to rearrange a special family celebration to be part of our closing night.

If you’re planning an event in the Okanagan, take the advice I received from every hospitality professional I met: book DJ Haymaker. You won’t regret it!

Jeff was an incredible part of our wedding day, going far beyond just being our DJ and MC. He helped us plan our timeline, guided us through the rehearsal, and made sure everything flowed perfectly. The ceremony was flawless, and the reception was an absolute blast. He played everything we requested, read the room perfectly, and kept the energy going all night.

I want to thank Jeff for making our daughter’s wedding on August 14th absolutely perfect. His games were fun and engaging, keeping all the guests laughing and eager to see what he would do next. He MC’d the event and made sure to have the personal details of the bride and groom, which only added to the excitement. The music was right in line with the guests’ interests. Thanks, Jeff, for helping to make this event so special.

Jeff Hay (DJ Haymaker) was an absolute cornerstone of our wedding day. He didn’t just DJ and MC, he helped plan our vision weeks in advance, guided us through the rehearsal, and made sure our timeline and overall flow came together perfectly. The ceremony was flawless, and the reception was pure fun from start to finish. So many guests told us how wonderful he was and how much fun he made the whole party. He played every song we asked for, read the room perfectly all night, and brought this constant positivity and optimism that set the tone for everything. He’s also basically a comedian, genuinely hilarious. When other vendors found out months ahead of time that we’d booked him, they were thrilled for us, which says a lot on its own. We have no idea how we would have pulled off our day without him. I’d recommend Jeff to anyone getting married, without hesitation.

My husband and I were initially nervous about making such a significant investment in DJ services, but Jeff exceeded every expectation we had. We are so incredibly grateful that we chose him.

From the very beginning, Jeff was always available to answer our questions, whether by text or phone call. He even attended our rehearsal, offering thoughtful suggestions for our ceremony, speeches, and overall timeline. He stayed afterward to have dinner with everyone and get to know our family and friends, which added such a personal touch to the entire experience.

Our wedding day couldn’t have gone more smoothly. Jeff kept everything flowing seamlessly from the ceremony to cocktail hour, dinner, and the dance, making sure each part of the day had its own unique atmosphere while keeping the energy up all night long. His professionalism, organization, and ability to read the crowd made the entire day feel effortless.

We received countless compliments on both the music and the flow of the day, and we truly couldn’t have done it without Jeff. He was so dedicated to making our wedding the “best wedding ever,” and he absolutely delivered.

One final piece of advice: do yourself a favour and include the Groomsmen Challenge at your wedding! My husband and I laughed so hard we were almost in tears. It was one of the funniest and most memorable moments of the entire day.

We had Jeff at our grad event and he was absolutely amazing! Not only did he DJ, he was MC extraordinaire! The dance floor was packed all night! The flow for the entire night was seamless. I highly recommend DJ Haymaker for any event! Hands down the best there is!

The enthusiasm that DJ Haymaker brought to the event was amazing and was involved with our event for the whole evening. He was great to deal with when arranging everything and was in constant contact up to the event. He even got dressed up for our 80’s theme. From the first phone call, Jeff worked with us to help create the most amazing day for our wedding. He also doubled as the MC so that none of our friends had to do it and he absolutely killed it! Jeff spent the time before and during our wedding day to get to know us, our friends, and our family. He was extremely thorough and thought of every little detail. During the cocktail hour, he brought lawn games and got people interacting which helped break the ice. He also kept the day on time and the music on cue. Not once was the dance floor empty!
