If you are arranging a company party, then I highly recommend Jeff Hay as the DJ to go with. From the moment we contacted him to the end of our company event, Jeff was the key to a successful evening. Jeff is very professional, talented and personable.

The next day, our staff was still talking about how good the DJ was. Jeff is also a good MC and amazed our staff by remembering people’s names and including them in the evening. The ‘Survivor’ game that Jeff used right after dinner was a big hit and included everyone, even those quiet, shy people sitting at their tables. The game really helped to serve as a stepping stone in the transfer from dinner to the dance. By the time the dance started, everyone was ready to get up and have a good time.

Hey Jeff, your performance was more than we could have imagined. You captivated our guests that no one else could have done. That was just the thing to take the pressure off us. We were worried that we'd have too much silence between dinner and dances, but you had everyone entertained. We kept getting comments like, "Where did you find that DJ? He's excellent!", "This is the best wedding I've ever been too!", "I just wanted to say how wonderful your wedding was. Your M.C./DJ was phenomenal!"... The positive comments kept coming in. I'd recommend you anytime!

Everyone kept asking how long we had known you and where we met. They were amazed that we found you on the internet and didn't really know you until our wedding. You made everyone feel comfortable and they were able to relax and let loose. You were like a family member, you fit right in with all of us.

The games you did were awesome, especially the Survivor game! Everyone had lots of fun with that game and it will always be remembered by our guests, especially since a lot of our guest watch Survivor.

Thank you so much again, look for a thank you card in the mail as well. Thank you so much for making our wedding day a smashing success! The celebration couldn't have been better in any way! From the minute we arrived at the Harvest Golf Club you were a tremendous help and the party just got better and better from there. We loved how we played the "kissing" game and how everyone was interactive. The "Survivor" game was a HUGE success especially with Brent's 78 year old grandma! After all of the "traditional" first dances were over, we absolutely loved how you mixed together our requests into one big mega song that set the tone for the evening and got everyone up on the dance floor and shaking their booties! Honestly Jeff, we heard nothing but good things about our reception and that is in large part because of you. One of our friends told us that we have ruined all future weddings she is invited to because they could never be as fun as ours. We had to go to a wedding in Banff 6 days after our wedding and the groom, who had in turn, attended our wedding, came to us in the middle of his party and told us that all that was missing from his celebration was our DJ!

Jeff was instrumental in making our wedding better than we had ever anticipated. Right from his helpful guidance during the planning of the wedding, to the moment he played the last song (right up until we finished clearing the hall), he went above and beyond our expectations of a DJ.
One thing that I was apprehensive about during our meetings was his suggestion to play some games to get people having fun at the wedding, due to my experience with an obnoxious dj who played games which made everyone feel uncomfortable at a friend's wedding. Although we agreed to the quiz, the "glass clinking" games, and the Survivor game, I thought the quiz might bore the guests and was so worried about the "glass clinking" game that I had asked Jeff to keep an eye on me while it was going on to watch for my indication if I wanted it to end.
Well, was I ever wrong to doubt him! Not only did the quiz help our guests to get to know one another (and us), but the clinking game was a huge success, keeping our guests occupied while they waited for their turn at the buffet. The Survivor game was a HIT! Everybody, including the children, loved it and before the music even began people were commenting that our wedding was the best, most fun wedding they had ever attended, and that Jeff was the best DJ they had ever experienced. The other very important aspect of the games was that they made all our guests who don't dance feel part of the "festivities". Not only was Jeff not obnoxious, but he did such a good job as DJ and MC at our wedding that guests thought he was a personal friend of ours.
We now realize that we couldn't have made a better choice than Jeff, and we will enthusiastically and confidentally recommend his services to anyone and everyone looking for a DJ. When we were looking for a wedding DJ we spoke to two others before Jeff, but after meeting him our decision became simple. He was (and is) enthusiastic, sincere, professional, and a wealth of all-around wedding and reception knowledge.

We spoke and met on several occasions, and not only did he have suggestions and advice regarding the music, but he helped with everything from flowers to cake to food. At our final meeting we still hadn’t decided on a lot of reception details like the eating order, games, how to handle the bouquet/garter toss, our exit, etc. We were resolved to the fact that we might just have to wing it on a few things, but Jeff had great ideas for everything, and all we had to do was choose our favourites and he took care of the rest.

Most importantly, on the day of, we were able to sit back and enjoy ourselves while he ran the show and kept our guests laughing and involved. Obviously it was a memorable night for us, but he helped make it a memorable party for everyone there, young and old.

Jeff provided much more than just games and music, and it's because of all the extras and intangibles that we would recommend Jeff wholeheartedly to anyone. In fact, we’ve just been asked by some close friends to co-mc their wedding next summer, and we said yes … but you need to get Jeff Hay as your DJ!

So I am getting married! How exciting is that?! Well we were very excited and very worried because we had never been married before so we did not know what needed to be done or what it was going to take to make a very special day for everyone. First we decided on the venue the Harvest Golf Club. I met with the event coordinator and asked her all kinds of advice. The advice that stuck out the most was "You need to get Jeff Hay as your DJ. He is simply the best in the Okanagan." So that is what we did we hunted Jeff down. We are so glad that we did.

Jeff is great! He is easy going, helpful, considerate and geniune in all he says. When we first met Jeff we were in the "We are getting married and don't know what we are suppose to do" phase and after 30 seconds of knowing Jeff we felt at ease. He was so helpful and honest with us. He is full of exceptional ideas and great planning skills. We so enjoyed planning the music and flow of this wedding with Jeff.

Then the wedding day came. I was getting ready to walk down the aisle and there comes the friendly face of Jeff. He looked honestly proud and excited to be at our wedding. We were so impressed with the whole night. He took a lot of the planning of the night on his shoulders and did a great job. We had a lot of comments from guests at the wedding about Jeff such as;" Wow! The music at your ceremony was perfect can I get the CD?", "Your friend Jeff I can not believe that he was so good and remembered everyone's names and made it so that everyone felt a part of the festivities" and " Usually you go to weddings and everyone just sits around and listens to speechs has a dance and goes home. At your wedding Sarah and Evan, we played games and danced to great music and participated in one of the best weddings ever."

We knew from our first conversation back in August 2004 that you had to be our wedding DJ. Your enthusiasm right from the start got us even more excited about our big day. We would like to thank you for being our WEDDING PLANNER. The many meetings we had with you and your valuable input of ideas of what our many options were and always reminding us this was to be a celebration and that normal wedding policy could and should be changed to make the event unique and just a whole lotta fun. We received so many compliments from family and friends who told us that ours was the best wedding they had ever attended! Many people asked how we knew Jeff, or how he was related to us, because he was so much more than just 'the guy in the corner playing the music'- he was an event planner extraordinaire! In the months leading up to the wedding, Jeff's experience gave us peace of mind, knowing that every last detail would be taken care of- something that is invaluable to the busy, stressed-out bride. Since the wedding, now having had an opportunity to relax again, it provides an opportunity to reflect on the events that have just completed. The countless hours of planning over the past months for the ceremony and reception have been coordinated perfectly with Jeff’s valued assistance. Utilization of his comments, suggestions and expertise resulted in an event that was near flawless. No surprises or oversights or problems whatsoever!

The musical accompaniment to the wedding ceremony was very tastefully selected to capture and enhance the moment, as well as to soothe and relax the audience. The culmination of the ceremony with an upbeat selection brought the guests to a level of excitement that they did not expect. An ideal ceremony as confirmed by so many there. The reception can best be described as an ‘event’ in accordance to comments of so many of the people who had attended. The repetitive comment "this is the best wedding we have ever been to" and "I didn’t even want to leave the room for fear of missing something". Rarely does a festivity as a wedding reception capture the attention of the guests as was the case with ours.

From the opening comments by Jeff, as the bridal party entered, the evening was filled with creative events and participation by all and had them enjoying every minute they were there. Jeff’s creativity surprised all with his ‘games’ whereby the guests were required to perform a variety of entertainment chores in order to see the bride and groom kiss and embrace, as is the usual result of the cutlery tapping the glasses. No, it wasn’t that easy for the guests . . . it was loads of fun! The Survivor game had selected individuals from all tables participate in a hectic search for required items from their tables. The mood was electric and exciting as the game progressed to the point where ultimately there is only one left; a Survivor. Truly an exercise that will have people talking about the enjoyment they had then. The entire night continued on in an atmosphere of fun for everyone regardless of their age. From the numerous musical requests aired to the arrival of the YMCA Village People (imposters albeit) there was never a dull moment throughout the entire night to the last dance, and a goodnight to all.

So many of the guests made the same query "how long have you known Jeff" "is he a family friend or relative". The friendliness and extra effort Jeff displayed in his interest to get to know as many as he could, and to make mention of various people, demonstrates his sincerity and love of his role in such a significant part of the lives of so many that night.

We cannot recommend Jeff enough given the complete satisfaction we have enjoyed in meeting, planning and celebrating with him at Kim & Ryan’s wedding. We will never forget that night and hope that Jeff is still available when our second daughter announces marriage in the future.

Perhaps the thing that struck us most about Jeff was his commitment to our wedding. We met a couple of months before the wedding and he had just an amazing number of suggestions about how to make our event not only wonderfully fun, but also perfectly individual. We incorporated many of his ideas into our reception and our guests thought they were terrific!

On the wedding day, it would have been easy for Jeff to simply show up for the reception and go from there. Instead, he arrived at the ceremony and spent several hours getting to know the crowd - feeling the "vibe" of the wedding party, so to speak. His social intuition was wonderful .... which is probably why he was able to keep everyone from 8 to 82 entertained into the wee hours of the night!

In summary, Jeff was personable, knowledgeable and professional. His enthusiasm is contagious! We had an absolutely fabulous party, and a very special day. Jeff, you were instrumental in helping keep things organized and running smoothly. Thank you ever so much!

As we decided to plan our wedding and reception without the aid of a planner, we are very pleased to have found Mr. Jeff Hay - DJ HayMaker. I explained where our wedding was to be held (2 hours east of Kelowna), Jeff was excited at the opportunity to host a smaller town event. Since we were in Kamloops, and Jeff was in Kelowna, our utilization of his E-mail address and 1-888 number was essential to our planning. From the get go, Jeff had everyone at our reception relaxed, having fun and ready to party! Our biggest compliment from our friends and guests was that they had not danced that much and had that much fun in a really long time. Jeff read the crowd perfectly and the selection of music had people up dancing and dancing for hours!! ( Who knew Uncle Allen and Aunt Joan could dance like that!!!) All the little touches, like the tickle trunk and the games including the kids, as an MC, helping out nervous speakers, and taking the time to get to know people, all came together and made our wedding everything we wanted and more!

One word - amazing. I knew Jeff would be a good DJ, but he surpassed all expectations by being a wonderful host, presenter, and friend. Jeff was our DJ for our destination wedding in Kelowna, BC. He was recommended to us by our wedding planner and he turned out to be one of our best 'vendors' and a fantastic DJ! Living in Bermuda at the time we had no way of actually meeting Jeff in person. But for the months leading up to the wedding he was great at communicating with us over the phone and very punctual on responding to various emails, putting us at ease and knowing that our guests would be entertained throughout the evening. I strongly recommend securing Jeff for your wedding or other special event. His experience and advice were instrumental in planning a party that will long be remembered by all of our guests! He came recommended to us from literally every wedding vendor I encountered in Kelowna during my early days of planning. I quickly realized why. Jeff provided a friendly face, advance planning tips and well placed advice on all matters related to our reception and his contribution to the overall structure of our celebration was incredible.

His ability to read his audience and keep that dance floor filled was noted by many of our family and friends. He played all of our favorite songs and took everyone’s requests. Watching friends and family members come out of their shell and perform all night long was hilarious!
